Moth Traps break the breeding cycle to stop moth infestations
We recommend pheromone moth traps as both an effective method of control, but also to monitor the presence of clothes moths.
Moth Traps work by attracting male clothes moths which are attracted by female moth pheromones - they are then trapped by the pheromone impregnated sticky strips.
Moth traps are typically odourless, natural and safe. The impregnated sticky strips in the moth traps have a life of three to six months – we sell replacement strips to insert in the Mottlock moth traps at a lower replacement cost, especially when buying bulk value packs, and we recommend that the traps are used even when a clothes moth problem appears to have been dealt with, as an effective monitoring method. Locate your moth traps in wardrobes or dressing areas and near to other clothes storage units. Where you position your pheromone moth trap is really important - ideally your moth trap should be sited at a height of 1-2 metres, or waist to head height. Male moths fly to search for female mating partners, whereas female clothes moths tend to hop or crawl closer to where they changed into adults from larvae. We would suggest one trap in a small room and another in the wardrobe. For larger rooms or additional protection, use 2 moth pheromone traps per room.
