The majority of anti moth spray carpet treatments contain ingredients that give them the name 'persistent'. The advantage of persistent moth killer sprays is that after application to a surface they remain actively toxic to insects, larvae and eggs for 3-4 weeks. Moth sprays that fall into this category are: Fortefog Natural Aerosol Protector, Oa2ki Trigger, Natural Insect Killer. All of these sprays can be applied to textiles such as carpets, rugs and curtains to protect from moths. Our persistent moth prevention sprays can also be applied to furniture such as wardrobes and drawers. Clothing should be removed before spraying and only placed back inside once the spray has dried. Do not apply directly to clothing or bedding.
We also sell 'knockdown' moth killing sprays. Such sprays are simply for knocking insects out of the air! They have a very short active life once sprayed and as such do not provide any persistence on surfaces. If you have a loft that seems to be infested with flying insects Insectrol Moth Killer Spray can be sprayed into that area for several seconds to provide an aerosol-fuming type action. The particles of the aerosol moth spray are much heavier than a smoke fumer and will settle quickly, but the knockdown power of the spray can be very effective. We do not recommend carrying out such a treatment in bedrooms or other rooms around the house that are lived in on a daily basis - Please see our Carpet Moth Fumers category for details on how to fumigate rooms around your home.
